The Public Health Department recommends that those with COVID-19 symptoms be tested. The Health Department is also recommending testing for the following groups of people even if they do not have symptoms of COVID-19, including:

  • All persons with or without symptoms who have been exposed to someone who was confirmed to have COVID-19;
  • Any frontline or healthcare worker who regularly interacts with members of the public and cannot maintain social distancing at work (ideally test once a month).
  • This may include those who work in healthcare, homeless shelters, jails and other custodial settings, food banks, public safety/emergency response, food service, grocery, construction, delivery, janitorial, transit, or social work, among other jobs.
  • All persons who work in skilled nursing facilities (ideally test every two weeks).

COVID-19 testing is available in Gilroy at Christopher High School by appointment at no-cost regardless of insurance or immigration status. Appointments can be made Monday-Friday from 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM by calling 1-888-634-1123 or online at Appointments and testing services are available in English and Spanish.

 Testing can also be requested through your healthcare provider.

 Visit the Santa Clara County Public Health Department website for a complete list of testing sites.

Social distancing measures will be in place at the testing center to protect the health of the community and health care workers.

There will be no medical assessments done at the testing site. Please call your medical provider if you feel unwell or think you have symptoms of illness.
