Boards, Commissions, & Committees

The City of Gilroy has a number of advisory bodies, each with distinct responsibilities. The primary purpose of these advisory bodies is to gather information, weigh public input, and examine issues in depth to render a recommendation to the City Council and the City Administrator.

Applications for our nine (9) advisory bodies are submitted electronically using the forms below and can be submitted anytime throughout the year.

County or Regional Advisory Bodies Open Seats

The City of Gilroy is currently recruiting to fill volunteer opportunities on various county regional bodies that are currently vacant.

Eligibility

Sourcewise Advisory Council
To be eligible for an appointment, a person shall be a resident within the City Limits of Gilroy and at least 60 years of age (age requirement may be waived if an applicant is close to the age of 60).

Valley Transportation Authority Bicycle Pedestrian Advisory Committee
To be eligible for an appointment, a person shall be a resident within the City Limits of Gilroy and interest in cycling and/or pedestrian activities and policies.

Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC)                                                                                                                   To be eligible for an appointment, a person shall be a San Mateo or Santa Clara County resident. Residents interested in joining the advisory committee can find the application on the CAC web page or by calling 650-508-6347. Applications are due by Friday, August 25, 2023.
