Proclamation and Recognition Request

To submit a proclamation from the City, submit your request to cityclerk@cityofgilroy.org.

Key Policy Points for All Requests

  • Submission of a request does not guarantee the issuance of a proclamation.
  • Only one (1) proclamation may be issued per event, but multiple proclamations may be issued for the same day, week, month, and/or year.

    The subject must be relevant to the Gilroy community.

  • The person or group requesting the proclamation or recognition, or the person being recognized, is a member of the Gilroy community.

  • The request shall include a sample proclamation or information to assist in preparing the proclamation.

  • The proclamation or recognition will be signed by the Mayor or Mayor Pro Tempore.

  • Requests shall be submitted to the Mayor and City Administrator for approval at least ten (10) business days prior to the time the proclamation is to be available or presented.
