The City of Gilroy is in the process of adjusting its water and wastewater (sewer) utility rates assessed to the residential and non-residential customers. The last time water and wastewater rates were adjusted in the City of Gilroy was four years ago, in 2019. The proposed rate adjustments, if adopted, would become effective in 2024.

These rate revenues allow the City to invest in the critical utilities infrastructure, keep pace with rising operational and capital costs, and ensure both systems continually meet or exceed all public health and environmental standards.

The proposed rates were developed through the Comprehensive Water and Wastewater Rate Study (Rate Study).

The Rate Study is available for your review on the City's website.

The City will host a Community Meeting to present the report, the proposed rate adjustments, and answer any questions.

The rates will be considered for adoption at a Public Hearing scheduled during the regularly scheduled City Council meeting on October 16, 2023, at 6 p.m. or soon thereafter.
