[ARCHIVED] Weather Advisory: UPDATED with Warming Center

The National Weather Service has issued Excessive Rainfall Outlooks for the next 48 hours with heavy rain predicted to start in Gilroy after 4:00 PM today, January 26, 2021.  Heavy rain is predicted to continue through Thursday night.  Additionally, a wind advisory will be in effect from 7:00 PM this evening to 7:00 AM tomorrow.  

If you are concerned about localized flooding near your home or business, sand and sandbags are available outside the gate at the Gilroy Corporation Yard at 613 Old Gilroy Street.   Residents should bring their own shovels.

The Gilroy Library will be open as a day-time warming center:

  • The Gilroy Library located at 350 W Sixth Street
  • Tuesday, 1/26 from 1:00 PM - 7:00 PM
  • Wednesday, 1/27 from 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM
