Community Joins Together to Promote Health, Safety, and the Spaces and Places We <3 in Gilroy

Community is the heart of Gilroy and it’s through community that we continue to find our way through the COVID-19 pandemic.  While COVID positive cases in Gilroy are currently trending down, we are not done with this pandemic yet.  The threat of variants and another wave of cases is still a real possibility.  In light of this, and while we continue to progress through the vaccine roll-out, it is important to continue social distancing and wearing masks in public as outlined in the Santa Clara County Public Health Department guidelines.  By following these guidelines, each one of us can be part of the solution of protecting the health and safety of our community.

Today, March 8, 2021, the City of Gilroy joins the Gilroy Chamber of Commerce, Visit Gilroy, Gilroy Downtown Business Association, and the Gilroy Unified School District in launching the #MaskUpGilroy campaign.   This campaign will showcase members of our community in their favorite spaces and places in Gilroy while following the Santa Clara County social distancing and mask-wearing guidelines.   Images will be showcased on Facebook and Instagram using the hashtags #MaskUpGilroy, #SupportGilroy, and #StaySafeGilroy.  We hope the community enjoys a little peek into the favorite spaces and places of fellow-community members and are inspired to share a few of their favorites with the community as well.

It's been a long year, but our sense of community and togetherness continue to guide our way to brighter days ahead.  Mask up and stay safe Gilroy.  We are almost there.
