Are you ready for the storm? The National Weather Service is forecasting heavy rain, high winds, and a possible flood watch for our area starting this evening, Wednesday, January 3, 2023, and lasting through Thursday.

With this storm, Gilroy may experience localized flooding, downed trees, and the continued closure of Silva’s Crossing, located at Uvas Creek near the intersection of Miller Avenue and Uvas Park Drive.

Sand and sandbags are available outside the gate of the Gilroy Corporation Yard, located at 613 Old Gilroy Street. Residents are advised to bring their shovels and a friend to assist. Additional sandbag locations can be found at valleywater.org/sandbags.

To report downed trees or localized flooding on City streets, please call the Gilroy Police Department non-emergency number at 408-846-0350.
