Are you ready for the incoming storm? The National Weather Service is forecasting moderate to heavy rain and winds starting Thursday in the afternoon and continuing through Tuesday of next week into the afternoon, with minor rain occurring on Sunday. With this storm, Gilroy may experience localized flooding, downed trees, and the closure of Silva's Crossing, located at Uvas Creek near the intersection of Miller Avenue and Uvas Park Drive.
Sand and sandbags are available outside the gate of the Gilroy Corporation Yard, located at 613 Old Gilroy Street. Residents are advised to bring their shovels and a friend to assist. Additional sandbag locations can be found at valleywater.org/sandbags.
To report downed trees or localized flooding on City streets, please call the Gilroy Police Department non-emergency number at 408-846-0350.
To report local creek blockages and flooding, please call Valley Water at 408-630-2378.

Warming Centers and Overnight Sheltering Resources
The Gilroy Senior Center will be open as a warming center, located at 7371 Hanna Street | Open Thursday and Friday from 9 PM – 7 AM
The Morgan Hill Community Church will be open as a warming center, located at 17620 Crest Avenue in Morgan Hill, on Thursday from 7:30 PM – 7 AM, Friday from 9 PM – 7 AM, and Saturday from 7:30 PM – 7 AM
Santa Clara County is operating several other warming centers throughout the storm including the:
Gilroy Library, located at 350 W 6th Street | Open Thursday through Saturday from 10 AM – 6 PM, Sunday from 1 PM – 5 PM, and Monday through Tuesday from 1 PM - 9 PM
Morgan Hill Library, located at 660 W Main Ave | Open Thursday through Saturday from 10 AM – 6 PM, Sunday from 1 PM – 5 PM, and Monday through Tuesday from 12 PM - 9 PM
Overnight sheltering may be available at the South County Armory through HomeFirst. Call 408-539-2105 for help or to direct someone in need of assistance.
