On Tuesday, April 4, 2023, Gilroy experienced an earthquake. Did you feel it? It was a magnitude 4.4 earthquake centered about 20 miles from here.
And the irony isn't lost on us. April is Earthquake Preparedness Month.
When it comes to earthquakes, it's not a matter of if another one will occur, but when. With this in mind, we're encouraging Gilroy residents to review and update their emergency plans.
Residents may also want to consider downloading MyShakeApp, a free app available from Google Play and the Apple App Store, that provides earthquake warnings and resources.
