The City of Gilroy has published a revised draft of the Housing Element on the City’s Housing Element Update Website. The City Administrator will provide the City Council with an update at the August 21, 2023 meeting.

Background: On July 6th, the California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) provided comments on the City's May 8, 2023 draft. In response to HCD comments, the City prepared minor modifications to the 2023-2031 Housing Element for public review. The May 8th draft was prepared following the City Council's adoption of the Housing Element on May 1, 2023. The adopted Housing Element included the City Council’s changes to Programs A-10 (Facilitate Missing Middle / Middle Income Housing), A-15 (ADU Ordinance Updates), and B-5 (Permit Streamlining). Those changes were reflected in the Draft submitted to HCD on May 8, 2023.
